The LeasePlan Western Bulldogs and Salta Constructions may be approaching the finish line for the Whitten Oval re-development, but it’s a sporting victory of a very different kind that has sparked celebrations.

Gary Young, General Manager of Salta Constructions, claimed the 2007 Australian Performance Car Championship drivers’ title by winning the final round at Symmons Plains in Tasmania on November 18.

Young, driving his Salta Constructions Mitsubishi Lancer claimed his first title in the category by winning four of the seven rounds throughout the 2007 motor racing season.

“Earlier in the year I wouldn’t have thought this could have happened,” an excited Young announced following his triumph.

Salta Constructions are a Gold Partner of the Western Bulldogs and are within sight of the chequered flag at the Whitten Oval, transforming it into a centre of sporting excellence and a community hub in the western region of Melbourne.

The Whitten Oval re-development is set to be completed early in 2008.
