Western Bulldogs defender Jordan McMahon says the side is happy to shelve yet another 'hoodoo' with its 76-point win over Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.

Prior to their massive round seven victory, the Dogs hadn't recorded a victory at AAMI since round 11, 2001, and Sunday's win snaps what had been an eight-match losing streak at the South Australian venue.

While McMahon says the Dogs are rapt to break the disappointing run, he said the club had put a focus on putting an end to such trends this season and have so far triumphed three times.

"It's always been an issue but I think we have resurrected a lot of those issues (this year)," McMahon said at the club's recovery session on Monday.

"We hadn't beaten Essendon since 2000 and we beat them, and we had knocked off Melbourne once in 10 times and we beat them as well.

"So we have just been trying to change previous years and that was the same with AAMI Stadium. We knew we could win and we went out there with that mindset and we did."

The 22-year-old said it was the Bulldogs' renewed confidence and solid game plans that have enabled to side to win in these against-the-odds situations.

"I think as a new team we've got a new perspective on things, the coach has let us go and we've got good game plans … we're playing to those structures and we're doing really well," McMahon said.

"If we can continue that way hopefully there will be more voodoos that we get off our back."

The Dogs escaped their round seven assignment unscathed with only defender Brian Harris suffering mild concussion after attempting to take a spectacular mark.

McMahon was adamant Harris was going for the 'Mark of the Year' award at the time and that he would be fine to line up against the Swans this week.

"Yeah, he was going for a hanger and he was looking at the car I think," McMahon laughed.

"He's fine, he'll be ok."
