Bulldog Friendly Schools

Bulldogs Friendly SchoolsA significant part of our Community Club strategy is our commitment to schools in the Western Region. We recognise that the contribution of the school community in promoting and delivering Australian Football to young people is significant.

As a result, the Western Bulldogs has developed the Bulldogs Friendly Schools (BFS) initiative for both secondary and primary schools in the municipalities of Maribyrnong, Brimbank, Hobson’s Bay, Wyndham and Melton – the Bulldogs’ Backyard.

The Bulldogs Friendly Schools initiative is entering its fourth year. In 2009 43 Primary schools and 25 Secondary schools took part in a range of different programs, which were delivered by Victoria University Pre Service Teachers. In addition to these programs schools received Western Bulldogs player appearances, Bulldogs Backyard tickets at Etihad Stadium, invitations to Dog’s Lunches, tours of the Mission Elite Learning Centre and Western Bulldogs giveaways.

With continued support from Mission foods and Victoria University, the Bulldogs Friendly Schools Program will continue to grow in 2010. For more information about our Bulldogs Friendly Primary School program log onto www.k9club.com.au.
