Information on how to get to Mars Stadium and the City of Ballarat's free Footy Live Site at Ballarat Showground can be found here.

Parking and traffic

Parking and traffic conditions will change on 19 August to improve safety for footy fans and motorists.

The City of Ballarat will provide free shuttle bus services from the CBD, and free park and ride services from the Ballarat West Employment Zone on the Ballarat Link Road.

The pre-game shuttle services will depart from the corner of Coffee Palace Lane and Mair Street, south of the Ballarat Railway Station and opposite The Good Guys, from 10.30am. These services will run on a continuous loop to Mars Stadium and the Footy Live Site.

With limited parking at Mars Stadium, patrons are encouraged to utilise the free park and ride service. Free parking is available at the Ballarat West Employment Zone (BWEZ) and the free park and ride shuttle buses will commence at this location from 10.30am, running on continuous loop via the Ballarat Regional Tennis & Table Tennis Centre in Dowling Street, before dropping-off patrons at Mars Stadium and the Footy Live Site.

Post-game, the free shuttle bus and park and ride services will depart from Mars Stadium and the Footy Live Site from 3.30pm.

The free shuttle buses will drop-off passengers in Sturt Street, opposite the Ballarat Town Hall, with a secondary drop-off point in Lydiard Street, at the bus stop opposite the Ballarat Railway Station.

The free park and ride shuttle buses will return patrons to the Ballarat West Employment Zone, via the Ballarat Regional Tennis & Table Tennis Centre in Dowling Street.

Both the shuttle bus and park and ride services will continue until patrons have dispersed.

Under the changes to parking near Mars Stadium, no car parking will be available along Creswick Road between Howitt and Norman Streets on Game Day. This area will be set aside to accommodate accessible parking, bus and taxi services, and local pick-ups and drop-offs. The east bound left lane on Howitt Street from White Avenue will be single lane only for a vehicle drop-off and pick-up point.

There will be a dedicated bus parking area at the Norvil Foundry Site in Norman Street, located next door to the CDC Bus depot.

Creswick Road, between Howitt and Norman Streets, will be closed for a period of time before and after the game. More details to come closer to Game Day.

Local traffic only will be able to access Beech Avenue, Iris Avenue, Linden Avenue, Brighton Court, Essex Street, Shelley Street, Brinkley Avenue and White Avenue.

Parking near Mars Stadium will be available at the Wendouree Sports Precinct, along Norman Street, and at the Midlands Golf Club.

Residents and businesses near Mars Stadium may be impacted by overflow parking. Short delays are expected and road users are reminded to approach the area with caution. City of Ballarat local laws parking enforcement staff will be circulating the area to ensure property access is available for businesses and residences.
