Formed in 1947, the Footscray/Western Bulldogs Past Players Group is the oldest supporter group at the football club.
It’s a thriving group, comprising past players and associates from over the decades, that keep in touch and meet socially, attend matches, and continue their proud support of the Club.
The Past Players Group aims to protect the history and build on the traditions of the Team of the Mighty West.
The group host social functions throughout the season, including Western Bulldogs home match days at Etihad Stadium, with a regular base in the Accolade Room which also hosts our Player Sponsor coterie group (Level 2, Etihad Stadium, access via Gate 6).
The Accolade Room provides a vibrant and festive atmosphere for catching at with old friends, bringing the kids and watching the game – and not to mention a stellar view of the ground.

Forty years ago Neil Sachse was a young man when he was injured playing Australian rules football with Footscray. He never walked again.
Neil lives for the day that people with spinal cord injury will walk again and as a result he established the Foundation.
20 years on, after many successes in research and education the foundation together with South Australian Health & Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) has established Project Discovery - a three year research program requiring $1M to complete.
On November 14 – 16 the NSF Project Discovery Classic will head to the Barossa – three days and 370 kilometres of Cycling Beauty. Neil is seeking sponsors.
This campaign is for those who won't be participating in the event.
The Western Bulldogs Past players and the entire organisation would appreciate any donations to this great cause.
