Bulldogs Museum

As part of the successful Whitten Oval Redevelopment, a Museum to commemorate the history of the Footscray Football Club / Western Bulldogs will be created.

Located on the ground floor of the John Gent Stand, the Bulldogs Museum will be the custodian of our material culture and social memory and will showcase the history of the Club since its inception in 1883.

Housing invaluable knowledge about the people and the ideas that have shaped our unique Club, the Museum will be accessible to the whole community to allow everyone the opportunity to understand the history of the club through objects that interpret the past and present - as well as exploring the future.

Through the Western Bulldogs Forever Foundation (Sports Development Fund), all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible. Any donor who donates a $1,000 or over will become a Patron of the Museum and will receive a patron badge, a Certificate of Appreciation and their name displayed on the Honour Board in the Bulldogs Museum.

One of the first projects will be to restore the Olympic Tyres Clock (pictured above), which was an integral piece of Whitten Oval for so long.

The Bulldog Heritage - Historic Players Register

The Bulldogs Forever Foundation will launch The Bulldog Heritage Historical Players Register, a book which features the stories of ninety players of the Footscray/Western Bulldogs Football Club in May 2010.

The stories come from players who played for the Club and wore the Red, White and Blue jumper at under 19, reserve or senior level.  All of the stories are unique but together they combine to give readers an understanding of what it was like to be part of the Club across the eras.

This book is a must read, not only for all Bulldogs supporters, but for all who are interested in Australian Football.  To order your copy, click here.
