The third placed Footscray Bulldogs will be looking to replicate their 166-point trouncing of the Bendigo Gold from early in the season, when the regional outfit make their way to Victoria University Whitten Oval this Sunday afternoon.

In the return fixture against the Gold, Easton Wood is set to play his first game under the Footscray moniker, after playing 17 games at AFL level as a versatile defensive option.

The Footscray side will be finalised after the Western Bulldogs reduce their 25-man extended AFL squad on Friday evening, with a number of VFL-listed players vying for positions in the final lineup.

JD Hayes showed promise on debut against Essendon in round 15, and is in the mix to be named for his second VFL match.

Co-captain Nick Lower has been a dominant force at the level all season, most recently highlighted by his 29 disposal and one goal performance to lead his side to victory over Essendon by 53-points.
