Easton Wood has signed a contract extension and will remain at the Club until at least the end of 2015.

After an injury affected 2013 season where the 25-year-old was restricted to just five games, Wood enjoyed a career-best return of 18 games this season.

The athletic defender recaptured his trademark burst of speed in 2014, and his flexibility to play on a range of forwards saw Wood emerge as a valuable member of  the back-six.

List Manager Jason McCartney said the Club was looking forward to seeing Easton continue to grow, after showing some positive signs this season.

“Easton hasn’t had a lot of luck with injury in the early part of his career, but showed some durability and promise this season,” McCartney said.

“We were particularly encouraged with how Easton thrived with some additional on-field responsibility, and we look forward to that continuing next season.”

Wood has played 65 games since being drafted at pick 43 in the 2007 National Draft.
