Jack Redpath says it was a change in mindset that led to the Bulldogs impressive comeback against Melbourne at Eureka Stadium.

It was a slow start to the match for the young Bulldogs side but Redpath says they key was having a more positive approach, rather than tweaking specific aspects of their game that saw the turnaround.

“Melbourne tried to keep the ball off us in the first half which they did reasonably well.

“I think after half time we just came out with a really positive mindset and I think we started to get the ball back off them a bit and create some momentum going forward,” said Redpath, speaking with SportsDay Radio on Monday.

Redpath said the focus after half time was to work on the “little things” which helped his young side capitalise on more opportunities.

“We had a young side, all the young guys were playing which was fantastic but it was more just about playing positive.

“Giving us more opportunities to get that ball back and then we can score off the back of it.”

Redpath said he is relishing his opportunity after being elevated off the Club’s rookie list at the end of 2014, after impressing in three games at the end of the season.

“They (the Club) have put a little bit of faith in me and I’m just rapt to be at the club and be a part of it this year.”
