The Western Bulldogs dominated the scoring in the round four AFL Coaches Association voting between the Bulldogs and Adelaide, with Jake Stringer coming close to a perfect score.

Stringer polled nine votes from Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge and Adelaide coach Phil Walsh for his six-goal haul and now leads the Bulldogs in the annual coaches’ award with 14 votes in three games.

Beveridge said post-match that the forward was proving a difficult opponent early in the year.

“It’s nice to see him (Stringer) hit the scoreboard. He’s a powerful kid, he’s quick, he’s very good one-on-one.

“He’s a difficult forward to match up on because you probably need to play a tall on him.”

Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy polled eight votes in a match where he collected 25 disposals and was influential across half-back.

Murphy sits in second place behind Stringer with eight votes and continues his brilliant start to the season.

“He (Murphy) had another outstanding game, he’s had a terrific start to the year,” said Beveridge.

“We need his leadership and we need him to accumulate the footy and use it well like he always does and he did that again tonight and he would have caused a few headaches.”

Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe currently leads the overall leader board with 33 votes, ahead of Dylan Shiel from Greater Western Sydney.
