The Western Bulldogs board has appointed Fiona McGauchie, partner at global executive search firm Egon Zehnder, as its ninth director.

McGauchie brings to the Club a high-level of expertise in people, culture and leadership having excelled in the field for over five years.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, McGauchie practiced law with Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where she specialized in public-private partnership infrastructure and other major government projects as well as holding positions at Linfox and Minter Ellison as In-House Counsel and Lawyer respectively.

McGauchie recently played a key role in the appointment of both Senior Coach Luke Beveridge, and incoming CEO David Stevenson and said she found the attitude and direction of the Club inspiring.

"The Bulldogs have a desire to be different and a desire to look at everything that can be done around people, culture and leadership, not to mention sheer professionalism," McGauchie said.

"That attitude is very exciting to me, and everything I've learnt about the Club suggests they really want to think boldly and confidently about where they can go. The way in which you manage people can be great or it can be ordinary, and we want the Bulldogs to be extraordinary and creative and to embrace diversity and new ideas.”

McGauchie, a mother of two young boys, completed a Law degree (honors) as well as a Bachelor in Commerce from University of Melbourne, and an MBA from Melbourne Business School — and is a past board member of Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the Centre for Contemporary Photography and Linden – St Kilda Centre of Contemporary Arts.
