Jake Stringer has been nominated for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year for his third quarter goal against Melbourne.

After Melbourne’s midfielder Nathan Jones kicked backwards inside the homeside’s defensive 50m, Stringer gathered the miskick, turned towards the boundary to avoid Lynden Dunn, then threaded the needle, dribbling a right foot banana off the outside of his boot, along the ground and through for his second major of the match.

Stringer has received Goal of the Year nominations in each of his three seasons in the AFL.
