Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Bulldogs each week exclusive to westernbulldogs.com.au.

LAST WEEK

The Bulldogs knocked off the Magpies on Saturday afternoon at Etihad Stadium. It was a good day for Fantasy fans with the Dogs totalling 1765 to Collingwood’s 1490.

Once again Liam Picken was sensational racking up 33 disposals and top scoring with 136 points. His season average of 106 continues to increase due to his five game average sitting at 121.6. With so much midfield time, he is unlikely to be available as a defender in 2016.

Fellow DEF/MID Matthew Boyd found the ball 38 times to post 129 points. In just his third game for the Dogs, Shane Biggs had 28 touches for 105 points.

TOP 5 SCORERS V COLLINGWOOD

  • 136 – Liam Picken (DEF/MID, $608,000)
  • 129 – Matthew Boyd (DEF/MID, $129,000)
  • 122 – Lachie Hunter (FWD, $311,000)
  • 116 – Jack Macrae (MID, $608,000)
  • 105 – Shane Biggs (MID, $310,000)

ON THE RADAR

The player with lowest breakeven at the kennel is Josh Prudden. The $181K midfielder has already increased $61,000 but will add more as he is coming into round 18 with a breakeven of -3.

Caleb Daniel is now up $91,000 (BE 15) from his four games and is looking like a handy late season cash cow and/or bench cover in the run home.

If you’re looking for a forward, Luke Dahlhaus is enjoying a fantastic season and is at a bargain price of $488K. A trade from Mitch Wallis will cost $32K as the added flexibility of Dahlhaus’ FWD/MID will be worth the outlay.

WHAT’S COMING UP

This Sunday the Dogs take on the Bombers at Etihad Stadium.

In round 18 last year, Essendon won by 7 points with the help, ironically, of Jake Carlisle’s eight goal haul that earned him 165 points.

Jack Macrae was his usual ball-magnet-self gathering 32 touches for 129 points while Jason Johannisen had 21 disposals, six marks and six tackles to score 98.
