The Western Bulldogs have come through their AFL and VFL matches on the weekend unscathed, with both sides posting victories on Sunday afternoon.

Aside from the wins, the Bulldogs came through with no major injury concerns and Bulldogs General Manager of Football Graham Lowe said he was pleased with both outcomes.

“It was great to get the result, obviously Essendon twice, playing them in VFL and AFL so really pleasing to get those results.”

Matt Fuller and Joel Hamling enjoyed successful returns from injury at VFL level, with Lowe satisfied with their performances.

“Great to welcome Matty Fuller back to some good game time that he got under his belt, and he came through the game really well so really pleasing.”

“Joel Hamling as well, obviously had a significant fall on to his back some weeks ago so really pleasing to have him back and available and he got through his game time and played well also.”

Lowe said defenders Jordan Roughead and Fletcher Roberts would both need to tick boxes this week to be available selection but had been pleased with their progress.

“Jordan was touch and go on the weekend so he’s getting close to getting back, he needs to get through training this week, with a view to make himself available to be selected which is really good for him.

“Fletcher’s made some good progress again, we’ve certainly got to see a couple of key boxes ticked through his training this week for him to make himself available for selection this weekend.”
