Season in short:

A move to the midfield saw Luka Dahlhaus develop into one of the most damaging midfielder’s in the competition.

The 23-year-old has proven goal nous, playing as a small forward for the bulk of his senior career, but in 2015 he added new dimensions to his game.

Dahlhaus averaged 25 disposals, three marks and five tackles, finishing the season ranked 16th in the league for total disposals.

He was one of only two Bulldogs to play all 23 games in 2015, with the midfielder enjoying his most consistent season to date.

Dahlhaus collected less than 20 disposals on only two occasions, while he picked up a career-high 37 touches in round 16 against Geelong.

Perhaps his most notable game was in the Dogs’ round 20 win against Melbourne, with Dahlhaus picking up 32 possessions, four marks, one goal and three Brownlow votes.

Stat that mattered:

Dahlhaus finished the season ranked 14th for goal assists, 13th for contested possessions and eighth for handballs across the league.

What they said:

“It’s been one of the better seasons, probably a little bit more consistent than previous years. Obviously having some time in the midfield’s been fantastic and I’ve loved every minute of it.” – Luke Dahlhaus, September 2015

He was really consistent. He did push into the midfield a lot more so got a lot more exposure in the midfield and Kingy and Joel did a fantastic job in skilling him up to be prominent in that area. But he did drift forward at times, he doesn’t only get on the scoreboard but he connects really well with his teammates and that was a real highlight of his season.” – Daniel Giansiracusa (Western Bulldogs Assistant Coach), September 2015
