THE NAB Trade Period is ready to explode on Monday as clubs finally get the opportunity to make deals official from 10am.

There has been plenty of talk behind the scenes but little action since the free agency window opened on Friday.

AFL.com.au's Trade Winds will provide a round-up of the latest movement every morning until the end of the Trade Period on Thursday October 22.

Anderson requests a trade

Hawthorn youngster Jed Anderson has requested a trade, according to The Age, and could make his way to West Coast during the Trade Period.

Anderson is seeking a new club to get more opportunities as the Hawks turn to fellow youngsters like Billy Hartung and potentially Jonathan O'Rourke.

Carlton is also reportedly interested in the speedster and the Hawks have allowed him to speak to other clubs, despite having one year to run on his contract.

"Like any club, we certainly won't be doing anything unless it is right for us," Hawks list manager Graham Wright said.

Danger deal nearly done

Patrick Dangerfield could move to Geelong via a trade early in the exchange period after Adelaide and the Cats advanced talks on the star midfielder.

The Adelaide Advertiser reported Gold Coast players Zac Smith and Daniel Gorringe could be involved in an extensive deal that involves other clubs to get Dangerfield to his preferred home.

Smith has also flagged his intention to move to the Geelong.

The Cats' offer for Dangerfield, according to The Advertiser, would be worth $800,000 over six years, which the Crows said they were willing to match.

Tigers out of the race for Treloar

Richmond has conceded it cannot lure Giants midfielder Adam Treloar away from his preferred club, Collingwood.

The Tigers have now set their sights on fellow Giant Jacob Townsend, who they view as a "big-bodied, tough kid who can help us".

Football manager Dan Richardson told Herald Sun the club had two needs – a rebounding defender and an inside midfielder.

He said Carlton's Chris Yarran remained their priority as a rebounding defender, with the Blues adamant the Tigers should part with their first-round pick (No.12) to secure him.

Townsend - who is out of contract - is likely to cost the club a third-round selection.

Bennell asking price lifted

Gold Coast will ask for Fremantle's first-round pick in exchange for troubled star Harley Bennell when the NAB Trade Period opens on Monday.

Bennell had previously been expected to make his way to Freo for a second round selection, given the Dockers were his only suitor.

However, it has been suggested Essendon shown interest and the Suns will now drive a harder bargain, according to the Courier Mail.

Fremantle's first-round pick is No.16, which had been earmarked for Greater Western Sydney forward Cam McCarthy.
