Season in short:

Joining the Club at the start of 2015, Biggs struggled to find consistency and a clean bill of health in the first half of the season.

After playing senior football in rounds eight and nine, he was sent back to the VFL to work on adjusting to ‘Bulldogs football’.

The challenge was set by the coaching staff, and it paid off. Biggs returned in round 17 to play a crucial role in defence in the back end of the season.

He didn’t miss another match for the rest of the year and his consistent efforts became a feature.

Biggs was one of only a handful of Bulldogs with finals experience entering the elimination final, with the former Swan picking up 17 disposals and five tackles.

Stat that mattered:

Biggs averaged 21 disposals in his final eight matches, from round 17 through to the elimination final.

What they said:

“The boys helped me to settle in really well, they’re a great group and it shows how far we’ve got to this year… It helps with the guys around you like Bob, JJ and Woody, it really helps me with my game… We’re all working together and it helps each other play better.” – Shane Biggs, September 2015

“He really set the standard at pre-season training and we thought this guy’s going to be really good for us, especially playing off half-back. He’s an endurance beast, he can keep running all day and he’s got a good turn of speed. He’s a really good decision-maker with the footy…

“His injury hurt him and set him back… But when he came into the side, he was just brilliant. The way he carries the footy, his work ethic was terrific… He finished the year really well.” – Rohan Smith (Western Bulldogs Assistant Coach), September 2015)
