Jason Johannisen will escape surgery on his injured hamstring, after expert opinion has determined a non-invasive approach as most suitable for the half-back’s rehabilitation.

Scans had previously confirmed Johannisen had sustained a high-grade hamstring injury with partial tendon involvement in Saturday’s win over the Blues.

It is expected that the 23-year-old will spend approximately 10 weeks on the sidelines.

Johannisen has played 51 senior games at the Bulldogs since being recruited via the 2010 AFL Rookie Draft.

The speedster played 20 of a possible 23 possible games in a breakout 2015 season, and has started 2016 in career-best form, averaging 24.5 possessions a game.
