No training session will go wasted, as the Bulldogs go about their preparation for the 2017 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Speaking from the team’s Lorne training camp, Matthew Suckling said the later return to preseason, following the Club’s premiership triumph, meant there isn’t a moment to waste on the training track.

“I suppose we’re lucky enough to start a little bit later, but that probably means we need to squeeze a bit more training into the amount of time we have.”

“If we do that right though, it will set us up for a good year.”

Suckling said the opportunity to return to the Surf Coast for the pre-Christmas camp was also another important step in welcoming the six new faces into the playing group.

Arriving at the Kennel at the beginning of last preseason, Suckling speaks from personal experience.

“I think especially for the new guys, it’s good to spend some more concentrated time with the group…get to know each other a bit better and just help each other bond”

Suckling and his teammates continued their conditioning work on the second day of the pre-Christmas training camp on Victoria’s surf coast.

The Bulldogs completed morning mountain bike and kayaking activities around Airey’s Inlet, before returning to their Lorne base for a stationary bike relay and weights session in the afternoon.
