The Western Bulldogs will go into tomorrow night's match at Etihad Stadium against Sydney with a taller team than that which faced Collingwood at the MCG last Friday, with ruckman Tom Campbell and key defender Marcus Adams called up to play their first game for 2017.

Campbell and Adams replace the injured Dale Morris and Toby McLean, who has been omitted.

With the Bulldogs looking to combat the tall timber of the Swans, Campbell has been selected in the ruck, and will play his first AFL match since lining up against Geelong in Round 13 last year.

He missed the latter part of the 2016 through injury.

Named at centre-half back in tomorrow's side, Adams also had an injury interrupted 2016 season, and will be looking to consolidate his place in the senior side.

Speaking to the media on Thursday morning, coach Luke Beveridge said that Adams' performance against Collingwood in last Friday's VFL practice match warranted promotion, with a place in defence opening up after Dale Morris broke his leg late in last week's match at the MCG.

"He played really well against Collingwood at VFL level last week, he said.

“He'll come in and replace Dale."

Beveridge said the Bulldogs would be expecting a strong showing from Sydney after the Swans' Round One loss to Port Adelaide.

"We know that they'll be keen to bounce back, and we've got to be prepared for that.

It's not often that Sydney drop two in a row and I'm sure they'll be looking to claw their way back. All we can do is look after what we're doing."
