Footscray Bulldogs coach Steve Grace has made just two changes to the side set to take on Werribee at Victoria University Whitten Oval on Saturday night.

Shane Biggs (AFL) and Stewart Crameri (injury) have made way for Billy Gowers and Andrew Tashesvki-Beckwith, who'll both make their season debut against the Tigers.

The Dogs fell narrowly to Box Hill in round one despite four goals from 2016 draftee Patrick Lipinski, and three from Fergus Greene, with Werribee also opening the season with a loss, going down by 25 to Geelong at Spring Creek Reserve.

Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au on Thursday afternoon, Grace said that he expects a spirited contest under lights, with both sides desperate for the four points.

"It’s a little bit unknown what the opposition bring, they’ve got some good depth, North Melbourne, and those guys are flowing back down to Werribee, Grace said.

"They were competitive last week against Geelong and we all want that four points to break the duck at the start of the year, so we expect a real hot contest from our boys again."

Due to Avalon Oval currently undergoing significant works, the game is a designated Werribee home game.
