The Western Bulldogs will be well represented in the Women’s VFL on Saturday afternoon when the Darebin Falcons take on the St Kilda Sharks in a preliminary final.

Western Bulldogs Women’s captain Katie Brennan, who was named the VFL Women’s Best and Fairest and received the inaugural Leading Goalkicking Award (she tied with Diamond Creek’s Chloe Molloy) on Monday night, is one of four Bulldogs to pull on the Falcons’ jumper.

Brennan will be joined by AFLW listed Bulldogs’ teammates – defender Aasta O’Connor, midfielder Nicole Callinan and defender Libby Birch all representing Darebin as they vie for a spot in the VFL Women’s Grand Final.

The Falcons’ campaign for back-to-back VFL Women’s premierships hit a roadblock last weekend with a 25-point Qualifying Final loss to Diamond Creek. The Falcons had won their previous 11 matches.

Darebin will play St Kilda at Piranha Park at 2.30pm on Saturday, with the winner of that match facing Diamond Creek in the Grand Final on Sunday, September 24.
