1990 AFL National Draft – James Hird

James Hird was taken at pick #79 in the 1990 National Draft. Hird took home ‘Charlie’ in the 1996 Brownlow count and by the time his career ended in 2008, after 253 games and 343 goals, Hird had claimed the 2000 Norm Smith medal, was a two-time Premiership player, won five Essendon best and fairest awards, was named All Australian five times and captained the Bombers for eight seasons.

1994 AFL National Draft – Aaron Hamill

Aaron Hamill played 190 AFL matches with Carlton and St Kilda. In a career hampered by injury towards the end, Hamill was remembered for his uncompromising attack on the football. He was a member of preseason premiership sides at both clubs and was named St Kilda captain for the 2003 season. Hamill announced his retirement in 2007.
