We’re back.

With two weeks of preseason training under our belts, the feeling amongst the group is really positive.

Being back at Victoria University Whitten Oval for another season certainly has everyone up and about. It’s hard not to get excited every time you walk into Whitten Oval, knowing that we are all here for the same reason and to get better.

With many new faces – both players and staff – quickly fitting in, it was down to business and straight into preparations for the season ahead.

With the hot weather returning there’s no doubt it feels like preseason training is well underway.

Last season taught us all – both individually and collectively – a lot and we are using those lessons learnt to better ourselves for season 2018.

The trainings have been intense and have a real focus on development and skills. Every team will be better than last season and we know we need to continue to improve and we’ve built a good foundation over the first two weeks.

Getting to know each other better and build that trust is something that is going to hold us in good stead when the season comes around. We’ve been doing plenty of team bonding exercises that have certainly made the group really close.

We’ll build on that as the preseason goes on.

It was great to see the fans come out to our open training session last Wednesday night, despite the sweltering heat. Some were familiar faces that the group got to know last season and it was awesome to see them supporting us once again.

With December now here, we have three weeks of training left before Christmas and we are all looking to attack this three-week block with everything we have. Improving in every training session is the goal and we’ve already seen that happen over the first two weeks.

The first two weeks of training absolutely flew by. The group has come together so well, but we’re under no illusions that this is only the beginning and that the hard work will need to continue for many more months to come for us to get to where we want to get to in season 2018.
