The Western Bulldogs have received a huge boost ahead of their season-defining AFLW clash with Melbourne this Saturday night, with captain Katie Brennan returning from injury.

Brennan has missed the last three matches after injuring her ankle in Round 3, and her timely return comes in the top of the table clash with the Demons at VU Whitten Oval, with a Grand Final spot on the line.

Emerging youngster Aisling Utri has also been named in the team after she missed last week’s loss to GWS through injury.

Emma Mackie (omitted) and Kirsten McLeod (hamstring) have come out of the side, with Mackie and Jess Anderson named as the emergencies.

The winner of Saturday night’s match is guaranteed a spot in the Grand Final, to be held on Saturday, March 24, at a venue to be determined.

Melbourne has won its last two matches, against Carlton and the Brisbane Lions.
