Western Bulldogs captain Katie Brennan is set to miss the AFLW Grand Final after her appeal against her two-match suspension was dismissed by the AFL Appeals Board on Thursday.

President Peter Gordon said the Club will now consider it's position.

''Obviously, it's a terribly disappointing decision for Katie, her teammates and for the whole Club," he said.

"We'll consider our position."

Brennan had been cited for rough conduct during last Saturday night's win over Melbourne, but because it was her second reprimand of the season, she was offered a one-match ban, down from two, with an early guilty plea.

The 25-year-old is now set to miss this weekend's decider and the opening round of the 2019 season.
