The Western Bulldogs VFLW team will play their first ever game this weekend when they take on Richmond at Victoria University Whitten Oval.

The team will be made up of a mix of new and familiar faces with Western Bulldogs AFLW Premiership players Kirsten McLeod and Hayley Wildes named in Saturday’s team.

The Bulldogs’ full squad includes 20 AFLW players, including captain Katie Brennan, vice-captain Ellie Blackburn and premiership Best on Ground medal winner, Monique Conti.

The round one clash is the first of seven home games for the Dogs, played across VU Whitten Oval, Mars Stadium and Henry Turner Reserve in Footscray.

First bounce is at 4pm and will be played as a curtain raiser to the Footscray Bulldogs VFL game at 7pm.
