The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation’s Leadership Project kicked off their second camp for 2018 in Anglesea last weekend.

With over 100 attendees, the Leadership Project camp included students from the inner west, Melton, Ballarat, Pyrenees Shire, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Ararat, Moorabool, Glenelg and Mildura programs, as well as students currently participating in the Club’s Nallei Jerring program.

Students were invited to engage in activities focused on personal identity – encouraging students to determine what is important to them and what makes them unique, while creating relationships with other young people from Victoria’s western region.

Each group worked on their community leadership project, whereby students identify a social issue they feel passionately towards and develop an initiative for change.

Western Bulldogs Community Foundation General Manager Kashif Bouns said that the Leadership Project camp is a great way for students from all over the western region of Victoria to collaborate and further develop their leadership skills.

“The Leadership Project camps are a highlight of the program every year,” said Bouns.

“Seeing the young people come together to share their ideas and learnings across the weekend is truly rewarding.

“We look forward to witnessing what the young people involved in our program can contribute to their local communities following their engagement in the Leadership Project.”

The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation’s Nallei Jerring Leadership Project students are set to graduate this Wednesday evening at Victoria University Whitten Oval.
