The Western Bulldogs AFLW side will head to MARS Stadium in Ballarat, this Saturday 19th January to take on Collingwood in a practice match ahead of the 2019 season.

Speaking to The Courier earlier this week, Western Bulldogs premiership forward Brooke Lochland said that the group are looking forward to heading to MARS stadium to prepare for AFLW 3.0

“We enjoy going to Ballarat,” Lochland told The Courier.

“Obviously we’ve expanded the Western Bulldogs community into there and it’s great playing on such an A class ground.”

With a revised list ahead of the 2019 season, the Dogs will head to Ballarat with all 30 players, with many new faces likely to have their first taste of AFLW level football.

“It will be really good for us to prepare for Adelaide because Adelaide and Collingwood are pretty similar in that they’ve got some hard bodies, so it will be a great hit-out for us to get used to the physical side of things,” Lochland said.

“It obviously gives a chance for all 30 girls in the squad to get out there and try different positions as well.”

Saturday’s practice match at MARS Stadium will kick off at 5pm, with gates opening from 4pm.
