The Bulldogs achieved a recruiting coup when they secured the Sydney premiership captain, seen by many as the final piece of the Dogs’ premiership jigsaw. The main issue will be whether Hall, who enters his 15th season, can cure the on-field demons that have haunted him in recent years. Theoretically, he should be less frustrated at the Bulldogs, who play a more attractive brand of football based on pace and precision, which might well afford him more opportunities than he enjoyed with the Swans. Controversy aside, his form was strong last year – he kicked 31 in his 11 games.
