The exciting rebounding defender had his season put on hold after injuring his ankle in the opening round against Essendon. He resumed in round nine and was a permanent fixture for the remaining 15 games, including a standout 17 disposals and six tackles against Carlton in round 16. At 21, his pace and athleticism makes him an important cog in the team’s defence — fantastic in contested situation, Wood hates being beaten.
