The athletic key defender finally made his AFL debut at 24 in the opening round against Essendon. With premier full-back Brian Lake absent for most of the season, he was asked to take on several defensive roles and battled manfully in his 16 games, finishing top 10 in the best and fairest. Signed a contract extension in November and is poised to take the next step as he becomes more confident in his role within the team.
