MELBOURNE'S Ben Holland will face the tribunal tonight after being charged with making unnecessary and unreasonable contact to the face of Bulldog captain Brad Johnson.

The match review panel referred the incident directly to the tribunal as there is no set penalty for the offence.

The panel also looked at contact by Johnson on Holland but the video evidence was inconclusive and the evidence provided by the players indicated the incident was an accidental head clash. As such, no further action will be taken.

There was a similar outcome from an investigation into contact between Scott West and Melbourne's Simon Godfrey. The evidence was again inconclusive, so no further action will be taken.
