Western Bulldogs Football Department Personnel

Graham Lowe



The highly-credentialed High Performance Manager Graham Lowe comes to the Western Bulldogs from Scottish Rugby where he was Director of Performance for three years. 

He has 14 years’ experience in high performance sporting organizations, having spent time with New Zealand Rugby Union, Scottish Rugby, America’s Cup yacht racing and New Zealand’s All Blacks where he contributed to an 88% winning record over a four year period. 

Lowe will oversee the strength and conditioning programs and medical services at Whitten Oval in 2013. 







Simon Dalrymple



Simon Dalrymple spent three years as Assistant Coach at the Eastern Ranges Football Club in the TAC Cup Under 18 competition, before coaching the Marcellin Old Collegians Football Club to the ‘A’ grade Premiership in 2001 and semi final in 2002.

He has since had extensive experience in player development and recruiting, spending five years with the Northern Knights as Development Manager.

In 2007 Simon joined the Western Bulldogs as Development Coach and is now the Recruiting Manager.



Andrew McKenzie


2012 marks Andrew McKenzie’s fourth year with the Western Bulldogs in the position of Medical Services Manager.

Previously McKenzie spent four and a half years abroad as a physiotherapist for UK Soccer Club Tottenham Spurs.

A Melbourne boy at heart, McKenzie returned to Australia to begin his work with the Bulldogs which is the first AFL club he has been involved in.

Ben Graham

 

Former Geelong captain and NFL punter Ben Graham was appointed Strategic Operations Manager at the Western Bulldogs ahead of the 2013 season. 

Graham will undertake the newly created position, working closely with Football Manager James Fantasia to oversee the overall football department. 

The multi-faceted role looks at the strategic direction of the Bulldogs football department ahead of 2020 and will play a major hand in setting up the stand alone VFL team set for 2014. 

An on-field component will also incorporate Graham assisting players with their kicking technique. 

With experience within the AFL system as well as on an international scale through the NFL, Graham is a quality acquisition for the Club. 

 

Andy Barnett

 

Andy Barnett was appointed to the position of Strength Coach in September 2012 as part of the re-structure of the High Performance department. 

With a resume that boasts 25 years experience in developing and executing speed, strength and conditioning programs world-wide, Barnett is a highly valuable addition to the Western Bulldogs staff. 

Barnett has worked for a number of international sporting organizations including the NFL’s New York Giants and New Zealand and Canadian Olympic Training Centres where he helped produce 24 Olympic and World Champion Gold Medallists.  

 

Jason McCartney



Jason McCartney fills the newly created role as List Manager at Whitten Oval in 2012.

McCartney played 182 games for Collingwood, Adelaide and North Melbourne in a distinguished career that spanned 13 seasons.

Following his retirement in 2003, McCartney was appointed AFL’s youth and high performance coordinator before moving into AIS/AFL program as high performance coach in 2009.

McCartney joins the Western Bulldogs after two seasons as Development Coach with the Fremantle Football Club.
