The Debt

For 128 years, the Western Bulldogs Football Club has played with passion, bite and determination, buoyed by loyal members, supporters and fans. Twice making it all the way to the Grand Final and winning in 1954, the Club has produced ten Brownlow Medallists and countless All Australians.

Today, the Western Bulldogs Football Club is being held back from the success it deserves by historical debt to the tune of $5 million. While necessary to get our great Club to where it is today, it’s now time for each of us to do our bit to Bulldoze the Debt and unleash a very bright future.

It’s the final piece of the puzzle that follows three significant steps already taken to secure our future:

1.    Football
The platform is now in place for sustained success, demonstrated by a record three successive Preliminary Finals berths.

2.    Whitten Oval
The redevelopment of our iconic oval provides a buzzing community hub for the West and the very best facilities for our players.

3.    Growth in our business
Year on year growth in membership, game attendance, sponsorship and merchandise provides solid foundations for the future.

Crucially, by bulldozing the debt, we will also save over $450,000 each year that’s currently paid in interest. With a clean slate, the Club will be free to invest heavily in football operations to draw more accolades to our trophy cabinet – starting with the 2011 Premiership.
