The 2020 AFL season has officially been suspended until May 31, in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.

The AFL made the announcement after the state and federal governments declared new measures to help prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

The AFL will review the situation at the end of April and the League will receive ongoing medical advice to determine whether the suspension period will be extended further.

The AFL will still endeavour to complete the reduced 17-game season this year, with 144 games remaining in the schedule.

The AFLW competition was also abandoned before the finals were able to be complete, with no premier to be crowned in 2020.

Until further notice, VU Whitten Oval, including Barkers Café, will be closed to fans, staff and players.

The Club’s membership department remains open to take calls, should you have any further questions. Call 1300 GO DOGS to get in touch.

The Bulldog Shop is also closed, however fans can still purchase merchandise online, with free postage for all orders in Australia.

We need your support now more than ever, and we thank you for your understanding, cooperation and for sticking with us.

Stay safe and healthy, and we’ll be in touch with further updates as soon as we can.
