From Port Adelaide in the SANFL, Hamilton brings excellent endurance and great awareness. He averaged 16 touches in six games at 76 per cent efficiency during NAB AFL Under-18 Championships for South Australia.

The defender also showed the ability to push forward later in the 2014 season.

Hamilton registered 24/30 in the goalkicking test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine.
