The Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne football clubs will join together on Saturday night to raise awareness for the Children’s Cancer Foundation Put Yourself In Their Socks campaign.

Both clubs will wear specially designed AFL Sesame St socks, with the Bulldogs wearing Cookie Monster socks and North wearing Big Bird socks.

Bulldogs captain Robert Murphy, AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan and media personality Gorgi Coghlan are all ambassadors for the cause, with Murphy encouraging all football fans to support the work of the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

“This is a great opportunity to put my support behind a really important cause – the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

“These children show such bravery and resilience, and as a parent of three young children myself, it’s a cause I feel strongly about.

“I urge all Bulldogs and AFL fans to show their support too.”

Fans and members can show their support by purchasing socks from shop.westernbulldogs.com.au, in store at the Bulldogs Shop or on the night at various Bulldogs Shop outlets.

Net proceeds from sales of the socks will go to a national childhood cancer research project with ultimately all Australian children diagnosed with cancer benefiting from the support.
