The Western Bulldogs have secured former Melbourne midfielder/forward Deanna Berry for the 2018 AFLW season in a four-way trade with Melbourne, Carlton and Brisbane.

As a part of the deal, Carlton has received pick 12 in the 2017 AFLW Draft, with Bianca Jakobsson traded to Melbourne.

Nat Exon and Isabella Ayre will join the Lions in 2018, while Carlton received Brisbane’s Tayla Harris.

So far during the trade period, the Dogs have received selections one and four for the 2017 AFLW Draft, with their pick three heading to Collingwood and pick 12 traded to Carlton.

“We’re very excited to have Deanna on board for the 2018 season,” said Bulldogs’ AFLW coach Paul Groves.

“We believe this is a fair trade for all clubs involved, and we look forward to witnessing Deanna’s progress at the club.”

Berry said she is excited to join the Bulldogs in the 2018 women’s competition.

“I’m happy to be a Bulldog and look forward to finding my spot in the team,” she said.

“I’m willing to put in the hard yards and prove that I’m right for their squad.”

Berry was drafted in the second round (pick nine) of the 2016 AFLW Draft and received a Rising Star nomination in Round 7 after gathering 11 disposals, taking three marks and kicking two goals.
