The Western Bulldogs’ triumph over Geelong on Friday night could be season defining according to midfielder Mitch Wallis.

Appearing on Channel Nine’s ‘Future Stars’ program on Sunday, Wallis said the Dogs are focussed on riding the momentum of the win for the rest of the season.

“It’s been a great couple of weeks, we’ve built a lot of momentum, and it’s about harnessing that and playing good footy again, he said.”

An inside midfielder by trade, with the likes of Bailey Williams running through the middle at different times this year, Wallis has often found himself forward, hitting the scoreboard in all but two of the games he’s played.

“Obviously I’m an inside midfielder, but I don’t mind going forward,” he said.

“It’s about team balance and Bevo’s big on being versatile and being able to play different positions.  At different points of the game he sees me as a forward, and I like playing forward.”

“It’s always handy if you can go forward and kick a goal.”
