Chris Johnson (Fitzroy, Brisbane Lions), 1993

Originally taken by Fitzroy in the 1993 National Draft, Chris Johnson was one of eight Fitzroy players who travelled north to the Gabba in late 1996, following the club’s merger with the Brisbane Bears.

Johnson’s move to Brisbane proved worthwhile as he went on to win three premierships (2001, 2002, 2003), two All-Australian selections (2002, 2004) and a place in the Indigenous Team of the Century.

Johnson retired a veteran of 264 games having established a career as one of the best small defenders in the game’s history.

Andrew Mackie (Geelong), 2002

Drafted from Glenelg in South Australia, Mackie played 280 games for the Cats in a career that spanned 15 seasons.
Mackie was a key member of Geelong’s backline in their rise to the top – sharing in the Club’s 2007, 2009 and 2011 flag victories.  He received All Australian selection in 2013.

Jordan Lewis (Hawthorn & Melbourne), 2004

Lewis reached the pinnacle of the game four times as a premiership player for Hawthorn (2008, 2013, 2014, 2015) and now is helping the next generation of Demons at Melbourne.

Lewis’ career has spanned 14 seasons since he made his debut for the Hawks in 2005.

In a decorated career, Lewis won All Australian selection in 2014 and played his 300th senior match in 2018.

Joel Selwood (Geelong), 2006

Selwood has won almost every accolade in the game.  The Bendigo product is a three-time premiership player (2007, 2009, 2011), six-time All-Australian (2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017) and three time best and fairest (2010, 2013, 2014).

Geelong’s captain since 2012, Selwood celebrated his 250-game milestone in the opening round of 2018.
