Vice-captain Marcus Bontempelli has received a Round 9 nomination for the JLT Goal of the Year.

Bontempelli received the nomination for the first of his two third-term goals against Geelong Cats, which helped drag the Western Bulldogs back into the game.

Swooping on a ground ball inside the centre square, Bontempelli evaded Tim Kelly and on-coming Tom Stewart, before bursting towards goal and launching a long bomb from outside 50.

The other two nominations for the week belong to Brisbane’s Charlie Cameron and Collingwood’s Jaidyn Stephenson.

You can vote for Bontempelli’s goal by visiting goaloftheyear.afl.

Voting closes on Thursday night.

By voting, you go into the draw to win $10,000.

The 2019 JLT Goal of the Year award winner will be announced at the 2019 Brownlow Medal Count. The player that wins the 2019 JLT Goal of the Year will receive $10,000.
