Inside the Fightback, hosted by Bob Murphy, aims to unpack the famous Fightback campaign of 1989, when Bulldogs fans united to save the Club from a VFL-proposed merger with Fitzroy.

Murphy will take fans on a journey three decades back into the Bulldogs’ storied history, where he will interview some of the most influential figures involved in the fight which ensured the Club exists as it does today.

The first episode, released today, features Peter Gordon, the Club’s current president and the Chairman of the Save the Dogs Committee which spearheaded the movement to overturn the VFL’s plans to send Footscray into extinction.

The Club will celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the Fightback campaign with a dedicated match-day in Round 17 of the AFL, on Sunday, July 14.

Inside the Fightback is a must listen for any Bulldogs fan eager to understand the critical period in the Club’s history, which saw people power win the day.
