Rebounding defender Caleb Daniel will miss this week’s important clash with Essendon, after sustaining a hamstring injury against the Brisbane Lions.

Daniel returned from a hamstring injury a fortnight ago, but unfortunately has sustained another injury to the same leg.

“Although he got through the game on the weekend, Caleb reported some hamstring tightness, with scans confirming that he has damaged his hamstring,” medical services manager Chris Bell said.

“We’re still to set out his exact time frame, and we’ll confirm this in the coming weeks.”

Hayden Crozier is a test to face the Bombers, despite injuring his ankle in the dying seconds against the Lions when landing from his JLT Mark of the Year contender.

Scans have revealed he has damaged a ligament in his ankle.

“We are working around the clock to prepare Hayden for this weekend’s game, but we’ll make a decision on his availability later in the week,” Bell said.

Fellow defender Taylor Duryea, who was withdrawn from the Bulldogs’ squad last week due to groin tightness, is also a chance to return.
