The Western Bulldogs will return to Ballarat in 2022, with the AFL confirming the first of two fixtures at Mars Stadium during the ANZAC Appeal Round next season.

The Bulldogs will host Adelaide in Round 6 on Saturday, April 23 at 1.45pm EST, marking the team’s eighth AFL game to be played at the ground.

With a 5-2 record at Mars Stadium, the ground has become a second home to the Bulldogs, with their last outing a 49-point win against the Crows in Round 20, 2021.

The Bulldogs’ commitment to Ballarat was strengthened last week after agreeing to a three-year extension of its partnership with the Victorian Government and the City of Ballarat.

The Club’s partnership extension brings a further two home games per season to the region, until the end of the 2024 season.  An AFLW fixture at Mars Stadium has been scheduled for Round 10 against the Fremantle Dockers.

The AFL is set to announce the remaining fixtures later today.
