The Western Bulldogs’ round two AFLW fixture against Geelong on Saturday night will not proceed as planned following multiple members of the Club’s players and support staff entering AFL Health and Safety Protocols.

Given the impact on the AFLW program – including a number of players already ruled out through injury - the Club was unable to meet the minimum team requirements of 16 primary listed players and five top-up players as per the AFLW Covid Match Rescheduling Guidelines.

The AFL continues to work closely with the Club and the Brisbane Lions, who are also impacted, to fixture a match between the two teams as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

As part of the fixture reshuffle, Geelong will play Carlton this weekend.

The health and safety of the players and staff remains paramount for the Club and the AFL, as the football industry continues to navigate its way through the pandemic.

For supporters that have purchased tickets to attend the match at GMHBA Stadium, Ticketmaster will be in contact should any ticket purchasers wish to receive a refund.  No action is required from the ticket purchaser.
