The Western Bulldogs are one of four AFLW clubs to be spotlighted in a new Australian-commissioned Disney+ docu-series, as announced by The Walt Disney Company and the AFL today.

The six-part series, titled Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW, will deliver a world-first look with unprecedented access inside AFLW and the powerhouse movement it has become for women in sport.

It will air on Disney+ this year, ahead of the next season of the NAB AFLW competition.

Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company in Australia and New Zealand, and Bulldogs’ President, said it was exciting to launch the project.

“We are incredibly excited to launch this documentary that celebrates the journey of these trailblazing women – some of the first to play Australian Rules Football professionally,” she said.

“They are extraordinary women, paving the way for future generations. This documentary showcases their journey and their own unique way of chasing football glory.”

With a focus on the Western Bulldogs, Adelaide, Collingwood and GWS playing groups, the behind-the-scenes camera and post-production crew is predominately led by a team of authentic, female storytellers.

Since its commencement in 2017, the AFLW competition has been a gamechanger in its short history, and the series will give Disney+ audiences an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of Australia’s number one sporting code and the evolution of professional female sport.
