Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith has continued to rise up the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year leaderboard following round 10.

Smith polled eight coaches’ votes for his 34-disposal, seven-clearance, one-goal and 722 metres gained performance in the Bulldogs’ 19-point win over Gold Coast.

He sits in seventh spot overall with a total of 40.

Defender Ed Richards was judged next best, earning six votes following 20 disposals, 11 marks and 13 intercepts, while the skipper Marcus Bontempelli (24 disposals, eight marks, five tackles, seven clearances and three goals) received five votes.

Jack Macrae, Bailey Williams and Aaron Naughton rounded out the Bulldogs’ vote-getters.
