Western Bulldogs duo Marcus Bontempelli and Cody Weightman have shared best on ground honours in round 14 of the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year coaches’ votes.

Weightman was prolific in his 50th milestone match, enjoying a career-high six goals from 13 disposals and seven marks to earn nine votes.

Bontempelli was at his best in the win over North Melbourne, registering 32 possessions, 11 tackles, eight clearances and three goals to also poll nine votes.

Those efforts also saw the skipper jump back into the overall top five, with 53 votes after 14 rounds.

Teammates Tom Liberatore (26 disposals, nine tackles, eight clearances), Adam Treloar (34 disposals, seven clearances, one goal) and Tim English (15 disposals, 10 marks, six clearances, 32 hit-outs, one goal) all received three votes each for their impact.

Roos Tarryn Thomas (two) and Harry Sheezel (one) rounded out the votes.
