Footscray delivered a polished four-quarter performance to secure a 17-point win over Frankston at Kinetic Stadium on Friday night.
The Bulldogs’ composure, depth, and clean ball use throughout the game proved the difference in the 12.13 (85) to 15.12 (102) result.
Their ability to apply pressure and capitalise on turnovers gave them control from start to finish.
Setting the tone early, Caleb Poulter took a stellar mark and converted the opening goal.
Poulter (again), plus one each from Fred Valpied and Harvey Gallagher, helped establish a two-goal lead at quarter time.
In the second term, the Bulldogs’ pressure and slick ball movement through the corridor caused repeat Frankston turnovers.
Despite a tighter contest, Footscray extended to a 28-point buffer at half time, with momentum swinging even further in their favour in the third.

Ryan Gardner hit the scoreboard, with Gallagher striking again soon after. Jedd Busslinger anchored a strong defence that consistently turned back Frankston’s forward entries.
In the final term, Anthony Scott's pushed the Bulldogs past the 100-point mark, before Gardner sealed the result in a composed finish.
Riley Garcia enjoyed a dominant performance, starring in the middle with 39 disposals.
Cooper Craig-Peters was influential at stoppages, finishing with 30 disposals and consistent clearance work throughout the contest.
Busslinger (27 disposals, nine marks) and Oskar Baker (28 disposals) provided vital rebound out of defence and helped launch repeated counterattacks.
